An injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet light tank T-26 in the 1935 production configuration, in 1:35 scale. The configuration of that year has a single-turret layout with a gun, riveted and welded construction of the various sections and equipment matching the middle of the 1930s.
The T-26 was the most numerous Soviet tank of the prewar period. It grew out of a British design which the Soviet Union took over and developed further. The original twin-turret configuration with machine guns was soon replaced by a single turret with a gun, because machine guns alone were not enough against armored targets. The vehicle was simple, light and built in tens of thousands. It fought in the Spanish Civil War, in the fighting in the Far East, in the Finnish Winter War and in the first months of the fighting of 1941, by which time it was already obsolete.
Finish and paint the running gear before you fit the side plates. The riveted surfaces come out well when a dark wash runs around the rivets and the heads are lightened slightly. Prewar Soviet green looks very dark in photographs, so bring the model to life by lightening the upper surfaces. Earth pigments belong on the track runs and the lower hull.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
