An injection-molded plastic kit of the German StuG III assault gun in the Ausf. G version, with the anti-magnetic Zimmerit coating molded directly on the parts. That does away with the laborious application by hand, which on this type tends to be the most demanding part of the build. The scale is 1:35.
The StuG III came about on the chassis of the Panzer III tank as a mobile gun accompanying the infantry. A low casemate superstructure replaced the turret and the gun was mounted rigidly in it, so it was aimed by turning the whole vehicle. The low silhouette was an advantage in defense, and with the long-barreled 7.5 cm assault gun the original support vehicle became an effective tank destroyer. The Ausf. G version was the most numerous and you recognize it by its new commander's cupola and the cast frontal gun shield.
Finish and paint the running gear before you fit the side skirts. Molded Zimmerit comes out best when a dark wash runs into its grooves and the edges are lightly brightened. On the areas without Zimmerit, that is mainly on the upper horizontal parts, work with color modulation. Late German camouflage tends to have soft transitions, which you manage best with low pressure and a small working distance.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
