Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet T-55 medium tank in its 1970 pattern in 1:35 scale from the Ukrainian maker MiniArt. The designation in the name states that the tracks are the OMSh type, steel tracks with an open metal pin joint, which differ from the later rubber-bushed tracks both in the shape of the link and in how they behave when they sag. The instructions supplied with the kit give the part count, the extent of the interior and the number of marking options.
The T-55 grew out of the development of the T-54 tank and became one of the most widespread medium tanks of the postwar period. Its low silhouette, cast hemispherical turret, 100 mm gun and rear-mounted diesel engine are characteristic. The design bet on simplicity and easy maintenance, thanks to which the tank served for decades with dozens of armies and saw a series of upgrades differing in details of equipment, tracks and auxiliary tanks.
Finish and paint the running gear and any interior before you close up the hull and fit the turret. Fit the tracks with a realistic sag between the road wheels and let them set in shape. After spraying the base shade, lay down a gloss coat under the decals, then unify the surface with a filter and bring out the details with a wash. Finally add dust and mud effects with pigments, most strongly around the running gear and on the fenders.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
