A diorama accessory representing a temporary field bridge in 1:35 scale. It is not a model of a vehicle but a building element of a scene. The set is made up of accurately cast plaster parts (in the newer editions a harder ceramic variant) completed by laser-cut parts, which make up an impressive crossing suitable as a central subject or as a connecting line of the action of a diorama. The element can be lengthened as needed and adapted to the size of the base.
Temporary bridges were built by engineer units over watercourses, ditches and damaged stretches of road. In a diorama they make a natural line along which vehicles and soldiers move, and they offer room for telling a story and for interesting compositions of view.
Plaster is easy to cut, drill and sand, and thanks to its absorbency it takes acrylic paints, washes and pigments excellently. You will glue the parts with PVA (white) glue or with cyanoacrylate glue, and the wooden laser-cut parts with wood glue. The plaster castings are brittle, so handle them carefully; any cracks are easily filled. We recommend sanding and priming the surface before painting.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and figures are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
