This large injection-molded plastic kit from Trumpeter in 1:35 scale represents the HH-65C Dolphin helicopter in US Coast Guard service. The large scale allows a detailed interior and rotor head; the box holds clear parts and photo-etched items. The model is based on the Dauphin 2 with newly shaped parts matching the HH-65C version.
The HH-65 Dolphin is a twin-engine rescue helicopter of the US Coast Guard derived from the French AS365 Dauphin 2. The HH-65C version received more powerful engines, which noticeably raised the performance of the machine. The helicopter serves for search and rescue at sea and for medical evacuation. Its typical feature is the shrouded fenestron tail rotor.
In a large scale the interior stands out, so finish and paint the cockpit and the cabin before closing the fuselage. Glue the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue and the clear parts with canopy glue. The striking rescue livery calls for clean airbrush work over a base and careful masking.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
