The figures and the equipment are of injection-molded plastic and are assembled from several parts (torso, limbs, head, gear). The figures are captured in working poses that match service and repair. Carefully separate the parts from the sprues with a sharp knife and clean up the mold seams and the flash with a fine file or sandpaper. Assemble with modeling cement for plastic. On figures, take care to get clean joints at the shoulders and the neck so that no gaps remain; fill and sand any gaps before painting.
Apply a primer before painting. Build the skin from a base tone through shadows (glazes) to highlights so that the face and the hands look three-dimensional; acrylics or oils work well for soft blending. Paint the uniforms in a base shade first, then bring out the folds (lighter edges, darker hollows) and tie them together with a fine wash. Finish the small details, the tools, buckles and straps, with a brush at the end; fine weathering that matches a workshop setting adds realism.
