1:35 WWII German 200L Fuel Drum Covers

Voyager 1:35 WWII German 200L Fuel Drum Covers

This photo-etched set from Voyager Model in 1:35 scale holds covers and tarpaulins for German 200-liter fuel drums of the Second World War period. It is not a model of a vehicle or of the drums themselves, but a detail accessory that gives a scene a realistic look: covered or tarpaulined drums loaded on a vehicle or placed about a diorama. Thin metal photo-etching captures the fine folds and details of the cloth, which are hard to imitate in plastic.

Use

• An accessory for dioramas, vehicles and cargo scenes of the Second World War
• The covers and tarpaulins are shaped over 200-liter drums for the convincing look of a covered fuel supply
• The photo-etching is bent and shaped with tweezers, and the more demanding joints are soldered or bonded with super glue
• Degrease the surface before painting and apply a base coat suitable for metal
• The folds and surfaces come out after applying washes and pigments (dust, mud, rust)

Who it is for

For more advanced modelers and diorama builders who work with photo-etching and want realistic supply details. Working with thin photo-etching calls for tweezers, a bender and patience, but the result raises the level of a scene markedly.

This is a photo-etched accessory, not a model of a vehicle or of the drums themselves. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
