Kubelwagen Type 82 wheels, standard pattern 2, 1:35 from Voyager Model: printed replacement wheels in resin. An accessory for a model, not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set offers the second version of the standard wheel of the light Volkswagen Type 82 off-road car. The parts are made by 3D printing from resin, so the drawing of the tread, the pressing of the disc and the lettering on the sidewall have crisper edges than injection molding can achieve. It is not a vehicle kit but a replacement part with which you exchange the plastic wheels from an ordinary kit.
The Kubelwagen came about as a light car for liaison, reconnaissance and staff duties. An air-cooled engine at the rear, drive to the rear axle and a low weight were enough for it even where heavier vehicles got bogged down. The wheels were supplied in several patterns during the war, because various makers produced them and they changed with the availability of material. It is precisely these small differences in the pressing of the disc and in the tread that tell the individual patterns apart.
Cut the parts off the supports with a sharp scalpel and level the contact surface with a fine file, so that the wheel stands square to the axle. They are glued with super glue, that is, cyanoacrylate. Paint the rubber dark gray rather than black and finish the surface with pigments to match the setting. If you suggest a slight flattening on the underside of the wheel, the vehicle will look as if it really stood on its wheels.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
