The Boat Set 1:350 accessory set of ship's boats from Tamiya. It is a collection of small boats and launches for fitting out large warship models, not a standalone ship model.
Responsibility details are not available.
Injection-molded plastic set of small ship's boats and launches in 1:350 scale from Tamiya. It is not a ship model but an accessory meant for fitting out the decks and davits of large warship models in the same scale. The box offers a rich choice of boats of several types and sizes plus photo-etched parts, which allow the boats to be set faithfully into their deck cradles and davits. The boats replace the simplified parts from the basic kits and raise the realism of the whole scene considerably.
Real warships carried a whole flotilla of ship's boats — command motor boats, working barges, rowing boats and rescue launches. It is precisely these small things that give a model its sense of scale and life. The set suits above all modelers building battleships, cruisers and aircraft carriers in 1:350 scale who want to fill their decks with more convincing boats than the ones usually found in the basic box.
Separate the small parts from the sprue with a sharp blade and clean them up with a file, and glue the plastic with thin cement. Glue the photo-etched davits and cradles with cyanoacrylate glue. The boats are easier to paint on a cocktail stick before they are fitted; an airbrush works well, and the wooden interiors come out with a glaze and a dry brush. Set the finished boats into their cradles right at the end of the build.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
