Responsibility details are not available.
An extensive injection-molded plastic kit of the American nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS Nimitz CVN-68 as she was in 1975, in 1:350 scale from Trumpeter. It is a large and demanding project with a detailed flight deck and hangar deck, an island superstructure and a set of carrier aircraft and helicopters. The model can be built as a waterline or as a full-hull version. For the exact contents, follow the enclosed instructions.
USS Nimitz CVN-68 is the lead ship of the class of American nuclear-powered aircraft carriers that bears her name. She entered service in 1975 and became one of the largest warships of her day. She carries an air wing capable of strike and defensive operations, and thanks to nuclear propulsion she has practically unlimited range. The 1975 version captures the ship at the start of her service with the air wing of the period.
Lay the build out in sections: first the hull and the hangar deck, then the flight deck, the island and the masts. Glue with liquid cement for plastic; glue the fine photo-etched parts with super glue at the end. Paint the aircraft and helicopters separately and mask their clear canopies. For a faithful appearance, a deck in shades of gray with its stripes and markings, discreet operational weathering, the wear marks on the catapults and fine washes all work well.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
