Reskit 1:48 — A-10 Thunderbolt II landing gear legs with wheels is a 3D-printed replacement for the landing gear in both the early and the late form for the Great Wall Hobby kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is not an aircraft model but a replacement part for a build: landing gear legs in both the early and the late form and wheels with the flattened contact patch that a tire takes under the weight of a standing aircraft. The box states that the set is cut for the Great Wall Hobby kit. The Ukrainian brand Reskit is based in Kyiv, has been active since 2015 and makes its add-ons as resin and 3D-printed parts.
The Fairchild Republic A-10 Thunderbolt II is an American attack aircraft designed around the seven-barrel GAU-8 Avenger cannon. It works low and slow, so it has robust landing gear with the main legs retracting into fairings under the wing; the wheels protrude partly from them even when retracted, so that a belly landing does not end in disaster. The long service life also means changes in the details of the landing gear between early and later machines, and on a model that shows up precisely on the legs and the wheels.
First wash the parts clean of print residue and cut off the supports; sand the marks down carefully and protect your breathing. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Apply a primer before painting, then spray the landing gear legs in the light color of the gear bays and set the hubs apart from the tires by the degree of gloss. The flattened contact patch of a wheel only shows to advantage when the model stands exactly level, so check that it is level before the glue sets.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
