It is not an aircraft model but an accessory meant to be fitted into the cockpit of a finished model of the A-10C Thunderbolt II attack aircraft - the figure in the seat fills an otherwise empty cockpit and gives the model scale.

What the accessory is for

An empty cockpit is the most conspicuous weak point of a model with the canopy slid back. A fitted pilot figure solves the problem twice over: it hides part of the simplified interior and at the same time gives the model believable scale. The seated pose in the seat is built for the cockpit of a single-seat attack aircraft, so the pilot sits in a natural posture and needs no adjustment of the limbs.

Building and painting tips

• Wash the resin parts in lukewarm water with detergent before building - remnants of the mold release agent stop the paint from keying.
• Cut the casting blocks off with a saw or a knife, do not break them off; protect your airways when sanding resin.
• Glue with cyanoacrylate, plastic cement does not hold on resin.
• Apply primer before painting and paint the figure on its own, off the model; fit it into the cockpit only at the end.
• Dry-fit it in the cockpit before you start painting - any extra sanding is easy then.
