This set brings 3D color decals for the cockpit interior of the Douglas A-1J Skyraider attack aircraft. It is neither a model nor its parts but relief decals with a raised layer that replace the laborious painting of the instrument panel, the side consoles, the belts and other cockpit details. The set is prepared for a matching plastic model of the A-1J in 1:48 scale. The maker cut the sheet for the Tamiya kit.
The Douglas A-1 Skyraider was a massive single-engine piston-powered attack aircraft with an enormous weapons load and long endurance over a battlefield. Although it came about at the close of the Second World War, it made its mark markedly in Korea and in Vietnam, where it served for close air support and for rescue missions.
Apply the cockpit details before closing the fuselage up. Separate the individual motifs, dip them briefly in lukewarm water and slide them into place; the raised layer will appreciate a mild decal softener. Leave the glossy dials without a matte coat so that they keep the effect of glass.
This is a stand-alone cockpit detail accessory. The plastic model and paints are not included in the package.
