The model offers a detailed cockpit for the two-man crew seated side by side, clear parts for the glazing, metal landing gear, photo-etched parts and decals. The engineering allows a choice between spread and folded (carrier-stowed) wings.
The A-6 Intruder was a twin-engine subsonic carrier attack aircraft able to operate in any weather, by day and by night. It stood out for the unusual layout of the cockpit, where the pilot and the weapons systems operator sat side by side. The A-6A version was the basic variant used in the Vietnam War, where it served for precise strikes on ground targets thanks to its advanced navigation and attack system.
Finish and paint the cockpit with both seats before closing the fuselage. It is a good idea to mask the canopy glazing and paint it separately. Decide in advance whether you will leave the wings spread or build them in the folded carrier position. Glue the plastic with thin modeling cement, sand the joints over before painting and apply a primer; the typical gray and white naval scheme comes out well when sprayed with an airbrush. Some builders have found a small gap ahead of the cockpit, so count on filling and sanding.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
