This Quinta Studio set in 1:48 scale does not aim at the cockpit but at the forward avionics bays of the Apache attack helicopter: the service spaces on the sides of the nose where the avionics are housed. It contains 3D printed colored pieces on decal paper supplemented with 3D printed resin parts, thanks to which these bays can be shown open and full of detail. Ideal for a striking build with the inside of the nose uncovered.

The real subject

The Boeing (formerly Hughes and McDonnell Douglas) AH-64 Apache is an American two-seat attack helicopter. On the sides of the nose it has hinged service panels, behind which the avionics sit densely packed; showing them open is a favorite way to bring a model to life and to display the internal equipment of the machine.

Use and fitting

• Intended for the matching kit in this scale; the pieces are shaped to fit its avionics bays.
• Spray the surface with a base color, cut the decals out and apply them to a moistened surface.
• Do not use decal softeners or decal fixers.
• Clean the resin parts and glue them with super glue.
