A set of turned metal weapon barrels for the late versions of the German Fw 190 fighter in 1:48 scale. It is not a model but replacement parts. Against a plastic one, a metal barrel has a genuinely drilled bore, a precisely circular cross section and no parting seam, so it looks considerably more faithful on a finished model.
Drill the hole in the wing or in the engine cowling out to the diameter of the shank, so that the barrel seats square and does not wobble. It is glued with super glue; solvent cement for plastic does not work here. Degrease the parts before painting and apply a primer, otherwise the paint will not hold on smooth metal. Leave the muzzle of the barrel in bare metal or blacken it; the result then looks more convincing than a solid plastic tip.
Fit the barrels at the end of the build, when the model is painted and set on its stand. Thin metal is stiff, but it breaks off easily from a model that is still being handled.
The set contains metal parts only. Glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
