An injection-molded plastic kit of the Czechoslovak Avia B.135 fighter in 1:48 scale from SabreKits. It is a short-run kit complemented by photo-etched parts and a 3D-printed exhaust part, so its contents are more demanding to fit than those of an ordinary mainstream kit and it suits more experienced modelers. Check the actual package contents and the range of color schemes against the manufacturer's part number for this item.
The Avia B.135 was an all-metal monoplane fighter developed in Czechoslovakia at the end of the 1930s as a further development of the Avia B.35 trainer and fighter. It was powered by a liquid-cooled V12 engine. Only a small number were built in series, and it was committed to combat above all by Bulgaria, whose air force used the machine to defend its own territory. It was one of the few modern Czechoslovak fighters of its day to reach series production.
With a short-run kit, expect careful cleanup of the parts: remove the flash and casting residue and dry-fit everything thoroughly before gluing. Glue the joints with liquid cement for plastic and fill and sand the gaps. Glue the photo-etched parts and the fine 3D-printed parts with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Paint the interior and pick out its detail before closing up the fuselage. Apply gloss varnish before the decals, then bring out the panel lines with a wash and add reasonable wear.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
