A 3D printed detail accessory from the brand Eduard in 1:48 scale. The set faithfully renders the radio compartment, the bay with the radio set and its equipment behind the pilot's cockpit, of the Czechoslovak fighter Avia S-199. It is an accessory, not a model on its own: to use it you need the base Avia S-199 plastic kit from the firm Eduard in 1:48 scale.
On a model the radio compartment is opened up by removing the side panel or the cover behind the cockpit, and it becomes a striking detail that draws the eye. The 3D print captures the small instruments, the frame structure and the wiring with a sharpness that injection-molded plastic reaches only with difficulty. The Avia S-199, nicknamed the Mezek (Mule), was a postwar Czechoslovak fighter derived from the airframe of the Messerschmitt Bf 109, into which a power unit from a bomber was installed for want of the original engines; the machine became famous, among other things, as the first fighter of the Israeli Air Force.
Separate the parts carefully from the print supports with a sharp knife and sand the cut faces. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Before painting, wash the parts and spray them with a primer; the interior comes into its own once it has been sprayed with an airbrush and the details have been brought out with a wash and a dry brush. Protect your airways when sanding resin material.
The accessory requires the matching base kit, which is not included in the package. Glue and paints are not part of the delivery either.
