1:48 Handley Page Hampden B Mk.I - Zoom Set for ICM

Eduard 1:48 Handley Page Hampden B Mk.I - ZOOM set (for ICM)

This is not an airplane kit but a photo-etched detail set for a model of the Handley Page Hampden B Mk.I bomber in 1:48 scale from ICM. The set is made by Eduard.

What the ZOOM designation means

ZOOM is a simplified version of a photo-etched set. While a full photo-etched set contains etched parts for the whole model - the cockpit, the gear bays, the flaps, exterior details - ZOOM concentrates on what is most visible, that is on the cockpit, and consists above all of pre-painted photo-etched parts. The scope is therefore smaller, but the effect on the final look of the cockpit is the greatest possible for the least work. The pre-painted parts do not have to be painted - the colors and the labels are printed on the photo-etch already.

What the set offers

• A multi-part instrument panel with legible dials and scales.
• Color seat belts for the crew.
• Cockpit details - switch covers, panels and radio equipment fittings.

Fitting and painting

• Cut the parts off the fret with a sharp knife on a hard surface, do not snap them off.
• Do not varnish the pre-painted parts - they carry their color and labels from the factory.
• Glue with cyanoacrylate or with a photo-etch glue; on flat surfaces a tiny drop is enough.
• Make the bends in a bender or on the edge of a razor blade, otherwise the photo-etch cracks.
• Level the parts of the model that the photo-etch goes onto beforehand - photo-etch does not take unevenness.

Who the set is for

• Builders of the 1:48 Hampden B Mk.I from ICM who want to improve the cockpit quickly.
• Modelers who want a color interior without laboriously painting small detail.
• Anyone for whom a full photo-etched set is more extensive than they need.

This is not an airplane model but an accessory for another kit. The basic kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
