Bf 109E-3/E-4 — the 3D-printed colored interior (for the Dragon kit) is a pre-painted 3D-printed cockpit set from Quinta Studio in 1:48 scale. A pre-painted, 3D-printed cockpit interior on backing (water-release) decal paper from Quinta Studio. The cockpit parts — the instrument panel, the side consoles, the seat, the belts and further detail — are applied like a decal, but they have three-dimensional 3D relief. The cockpit therefore gains depth and a photorealistic look with no need for painting and shading. The set is designed for the early E-3 and E-4 versions of the Emil and is intended specifically for the Bf 109E kit from Dragon in 1:48 scale; it will not fit another kit and you have to have the kit itself.
The Messerschmitt Bf 109E, nicknamed the Emil, was an early version of the famous German fighter of the Second World War and the main type of the Luftwaffe at the time of the Battle of Britain. The E-3 and E-4 variants were among the most widespread early Emils; they differed above all in the arrangement of the armament and in details of the cockpit. It was a single-seat machine with an inverted V12 Daimler-Benz engine.
The parts are released from their backing in water like a classic decal and seated on the plastic parts of the cockpit. The base is best unified with a gloss varnish; do not use a decal softener, as it attacks the printed resin, and the small 3D elements are fixed with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Painting is not needed — the colors and the instrument markings are printed on.
This is not an aircraft model but a detail accessory for the cockpit. The Dragon kit itself, glue, paints and varnishes are not included in the package.
