A replacement set of wheels in 1:48 scale for a model of the American Boeing CH-46 Sea Knight transport helicopter. An accessory to a kit, not a standalone model.
Responsibility details are not available.
The CH-46 Sea Knight is an American transport helicopter with a pair of main rotors mounted in tandem. The layout without a tail rotor gave it a short fuselage with a large cargo compartment and a rear ramp, so that it suited carrying troops and cargo from a deck and from field sites. It stayed in service for decades and became one of the typical machines of the US Marine Corps.
The wheels of a helicopter model are more in view than you would expect: the machine stands in a cabinet on its landing gear and the viewer leans over it from above. Replacement wheels give a sharper tread, a more legible pattern on the hub and a better shape where the tire rests on the ground. The extent of the parts and their fitting are described in the instructions from the maker of the set.
The parts are not polystyrene and ordinary plastic cement will not join them; use cyanoacrylate glue. Cut the excess material off with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the remainder down. Wash and degrease the wheels before painting, as the finish peels off a greasy surface. Paint the hub and the tire separately and leave the bonding surfaces unpainted. If the tire is flattened on one side, turn the flat toward the ground, or the model will stand crooked.
The helicopter kit, paints, glue and tools are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
