A set of three figures of British aircraft mechanics in 1:48 scale with a 20 mm SUU-23 gun pod on a transport trolley. The gun section can be built with the cover open or closed.
Responsibility details are not available.
The SUU-23 is an American gun pod with a 20 mm rotary cannon. It was hung on the pylons of combat aircraft and supplemented the gun armament where it was missing or insufficient. At an airfield the pod was brought up on a trolley, opened for inspection and replenishment of ammunition, and only then went under the aircraft. The set captures British mechanics at this work, and does so in 1:48 scale, the most widespread size for aircraft models.
Three pieces in 1:48 scale, with an SUU-23 gun pod and a transport trolley to go with them. The gun section is prepared in both forms, with the cover open and closed, so you can choose between a quiet scene and work in progress. The scene 1 designation distinguishes the individual scenes within the range; the division of the parts is described in the manufacturer's instructions.
Cut off the excess material with a sharp blade a little away from the part and carefully sand the surface, so as not to wipe away the shape of the figure. Wash and degrease the figures before painting, otherwise the paint will hold poorly. Choose the glue to match the material of the parts; the recommendation is in the manufacturer's instructions. In 1:48 scale it is the silhouette rather than the small details that decides the result: lay down a primer, the main shade of the coveralls and then only a dark glaze into the folds, so that the figures do not collapse into a single flat area.
The set belongs in dioramas with British aviation and will also serve beside a single finished model, to which it gives scale and a story. Paints, glue and tools are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
