Eduard photo-etched metal set for the model of the Dassault Mirage 2000D aircraft in 1:48 scale. It adds details to the model that cannot be made in plastic.
Responsibility details are not available.
Photo-etch is a thin metal fret with the shapes etched into it. The individual parts are held in it on small tabs, from which they are cut out, shaped and glued to the model. Metal keeps its shape even at a thickness a plastic part cannot reach, so photo-etch aims exactly where plastic is necessarily thicker from production than the real thing.
The Dassault Mirage 2000D is a French two-seat strike aircraft derived from the single-seat Mirage 2000. It keeps the characteristic delta wing with no horizontal tail surfaces and the second crew member sits in an extended cockpit behind the pilot. The set is cut for 1:48 scale.
Separate a part with a sharp blade on a hard surface and never break it out with your fingers: thin metal twists and is hard to straighten again. Make the folds over the edge of a bender or between two blades, so that the edge comes out crisp along its whole length. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue applied in a minute amount, best of all with the tip of a toothpick; cement for polystyrene will not join metal. Before painting, wash and degrease the metal and back it with a base coat, otherwise the finish peels off a smooth surface. The extent of the set and the order of fitting are shown in the manufacturer's instructions.
A photo-etched set is supplied. The kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
