This injection-molded plastic kit in 1:48 scale from Trumpeter captures the single-seat fighter-bomber version F-100C Super Sabre. The model offers finely engraved panel lines, a detailed cockpit, landing gear bays and pylons for weapons and auxiliary tanks.
The F-100 Super Sabre was the first production fighter of the US Air Force able to exceed the speed of sound in level flight. The F-100C version brought the ability to refuel in flight and a strengthened wing with further pylons, which turned the aircraft into a versatile fighter-bomber. Its elongated fuselage and its low-set air intake are typical of it.
Glue with liquid cement for plastic and sand the fuselage joints carefully. The natural metal surface of the early machines calls for a smooth base and metallic paint, while the later camouflage can be rendered with an airbrush. Bring out the panel lines with a fine wash.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
