This set from the manufacturer CMK contains a resin replica of the jet engine for models of the Lockheed F-104G/J Starfighter in 1:48 scale. It makes it possible to show the engine section of the aircraft opened up during maintenance, for example with the engine drawn out on a service trolley or with the rear of the fuselage removed.
The complete engine is intended for modelers who want to present the internal workings of an aircraft. It calls for modification of the base kit - cutting or opening the rear part of the fuselage so that the engine is visible. The castings carry detail of accessories and fittings that injection-molded plastic does not include.
First wash the resin parts in lukewarm soapy water to remove the residue of the release agent, carefully cut off the casting blocks and sand the cut faces lightly. They are glued exclusively with super glue (cyanoacrylate); plastic cement does not hold on resin. Sanding resin creates dust that is harmful to health, so work with respiratory protection.
This is a detail accessory, not a complete model. The base kit, glue, paints and other accessories are not included in the package.
