The detail accessory 1:48 F-14A Tomcat — 3D-printed air intakes for the Tamiya kit from Reskit. This is not an aircraft model, but a set that refines the air intakes on the base F-14 kit from Tamiya.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a detail accessory, not a standalone aircraft model. The set from Reskit includes 3D-printed intakes (air intakes) for building the carrier-based fighter Grumman F-14A Tomcat in 1:48 scale. It replaces the corresponding parts of the base kit with more accurately made intake ducts, with a more faithful internal shape and a finer surface. Using it requires the base injection-molded F-14 kit from Tamiya — that kit is not included in this package.
The air intakes are among the most visually exposed spots on a Tomcat model. 3D printing captures thin edges and smooth internal duct walls that are hard to achieve with injection-molded parts. The result is a more realistic view into the intakes and a sharper outline of the forward fuselage.
First wash the 3D-printed parts to remove any residual uncured print resin, carefully cut off the supports, and clean up the surfaces. Glue with cyanoacrylate (super glue). We recommend applying a primer before painting; the inside of the intake is usually sprayed a light color. When sanding and cutting resin and 3D-printed parts, wear respiratory protection.
This is an accessory that requires the base F-14 kit from Tamiya. The base model, glue, and paints are not included in the package.
