Pre-cut painting masks for the model of the F-35A/C Lightning II in 1:48 scale, cut for the Tamiya kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The F-35 Lightning II is a single-engine fifth-generation combat aircraft, built with a low radar signature in mind. The F-35A version is the land-based rendition for ordinary runways, whereas the F-35C is the carrier variant with a greater wing area, folding wingtips, strengthened landing gear and an arrestor hook for landing on an aircraft carrier. The differences between the two versions are pronounced enough to show in the outline of the areas that are covered during painting.
A set of pre-cut masks in 1:48 scale, prepared to fit the Tamiya kit. The pieces are cut in advance, so the laborious tracing and cutting by hand to a template falls away and the edges of the mask come out sharp even where the surface curves.
Stick the masks onto a clean and degreased surface before spraying, never onto a finished coat of paint. Lift the individual pieces with tweezers or the tip of a sharp blade, then press the edges down carefully so that no paint runs under them. Apply the paint in thin coats and from the edge of the mask, not directly onto the edge. Take the mask off shortly after the paint has dried, not after several days, when the edge of the coat holds more firmly and there is a risk of tearing it off.
For modelers who build the Tamiya F-35 in 1:48 scale and want a clean transition between colors without lengthy masking.
The package holds a masking set. The model, paints and glue are not part of it, unless stated otherwise.
