A detailed resin set of the cockpit for the F/A-18F Super Hornet in 1:48 scale from the manufacturer Aires. It is not a model of an aircraft but a set with which you replace the simplified cockpit from a plastic kit with a faithful and richly subdivided interior of the two-seat machine. It combines resin castings with photo-etch and offers a front and a rear instrument panel, both ejection seats, the cockpit side walls and the controls. Intended for more experienced modelers.
Wash the resin parts free of mold release agent, separate them from the casting blocks and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate); protect your airways when sanding resin. Fitting the set usually calls for modifying the inside of the fuselage and the cockpit tub. Paint and shade the interior before closing the fuselage; you will bring the small instruments to life with a highlight of clear varnish.
The set is only an accessory for a plastic kit, which it does not contain. Glue and paints are not included in the package.
