The Grumman F9F Panther was an American carrier-based jet fighter with a straight wing, one of the first production jets of the navy. The F9F-2 version was an early production modification that saw considerable use during the Korean War, among other things in the role of a fighter as well as a ground-attack aircraft.
The individual parts – the instrument panel, the side consoles, the seat, the levers and other details – are released from the backing in water like an ordinary decal and settled onto the plastic parts of the cockpit. Unlike a flat decal they have a real 3D relief, so the interior looks deep and photorealistic. We recommend unifying the surface with gloss varnish, on which the element holds; do not use a decal softener or a setting solution, they would attack the printed resin. The small three-dimensional elements can be fixed with super glue (cyanoacrylate) if needed. Nothing has to be painted – the colors and the instrument lettering are already printed.
This is not an airplane model, but a detail accessory for the cockpit. The Trumpeter kit itself, glue, paints and varnishes are not included in the package.
