1:48 Fairey Barracuda Mk.II exhaust is a resin exhaust set for a model of the British carrier-based torpedo bomber.
Responsibility details are not available.
An accessory exhaust set for a model of the British carrier-based torpedo and dive bomber Barracuda in the Mk.II version, in 1:48 scale. It is not a model of the aircraft but a replacement part. On this type the exhausts run along the sides of the cowling and are clearly visible, while the plastic part is usually blind and carries a mold seam along its whole length.
Cut the parts off the casting blocks with a fine saw and sand the cut surface. Wash the resin in lukewarm water with detergent before painting because of the mold release agent. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). A metallic look is achieved by layering dark steel shades and adding a fine pigment. Draw the exhaust streaks backwards along the airflow, not across it, and concentrate them into a narrow band behind each outlet.
Fit the exhausts only after the cowling has had its base coat. Masking stained metal against the surrounding paint is considerably more work than fitting a finished part onto a painted surface.
The set contains exhausts only. Glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
