A set of turned metal barrels of the two-centimeter anti-aircraft gun for a model of the Wirbelwind anti-aircraft tank, in 1:48 scale. It is not a model but a set of replacement parts. The quadruple mount in the open turret is what catches the eye most on the vehicle, and that is exactly where plastic barrels fail, because they are too thick and come out warped once cut from the sprue.

Building and painting tips

Drill the openings in the mount to the diameter of the shanks, so that the barrels seat square and parallel. It is the parallelism that shows most on a quadruple mount, so look at the assembly from the front before the glue sets. It is glued with super glue. Degrease the parts before painting and lay down a primer. The barrels of anti-aircraft guns tended to be heat-stained and scuffed, which you suggest with dark steel shades applied at the end.
