MiniArt 1:48 German Jerry Cans WW2 is a plastic kit of a set of German jerrycans from the Second World War, meant to bring dioramas and vehicles to life.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a plastic kit of an add-on set, not a vehicle model. The box holds a set of German twenty-liter jerrycans of the Jerry Can type from the Second World War on several sprues, together with a decal sheet for marking the contents. Each jerrycan is built from several parts, so it captures the shape of the real thing well, including the characteristic three handles and the cap.
The German twenty-liter can, which the Allies came to call the jerrycan, became one of the most successful designs of the Second World War. A sturdy pressed shell, three handles and a quick-release closure allowed fuel and water to be stored and carried safely. Jerrycans are a typical fitting on tanks, on armored and cargo vehicles and around field depots.
Separate the parts with a hobby knife and treat the assembled jerrycans with thin model cement for plastic. Color variants (gray, dark yellow, olive) and a weathered look repay the effort: washes, chipping and a hint of rust. The decals describing the contents add authenticity to the scene.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
