This is a 3D-printed resin accessory, not a model on its own. It depicts the American twenty-liter (five-gallon) can of the Second World War in 1:48 scale. It will serve to load vehicles and to enliven dioramas and field scenes.
The Allies took over the proven design of the German standard can and made their own version. The American form differed from the German one in the details of the closure and of the pressing and was usually marked with lettering and a star. The can was used for fuel as well as water and became an indispensable part of supply work.
Wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water. Before separating them from the print supports it is a good idea to dip them in hot water for a moment; the resin softens and will not chip off. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). For a realistic look an olive green base helps, along with drybrushing of the edges and light weathering.
This is an accessory, not a complete model. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted; glue, paints and other accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
