This is a set of colored self-adhesive 3D decals for detailing an interior, not a kit. A thin flexible film with raised, fully colored elements replaces the instrument panels, the side panels and further details of the cockpit of a model of the Ka-27 Helix helicopter in 1:48 scale. The set is made by Kelik.
The Kamov Ka-27, Helix in the NATO code, is a Soviet and later Russian shipborne helicopter with characteristic coaxial rotors and no tail rotor. It serves above all in anti-submarine warfare and in search and rescue duties from the decks of ships. The coaxial rotor layout gives it compact dimensions suited to operating from limited decks.
The individual elements are carefully lifted out of the sheet and applied to the matching surfaces of the cockpit. The film is pliable and will conform to slightly curved surfaces. It is a good idea to degrease the surfaces beforehand and to press the decal down into the detail with a soft cotton swab. Whether a decal softener can be used on it should be checked in the manufacturer's instructions; with printed elements makers tend to be cautious about one. The set makes a realistic interior possible without painting the instruments.
This is an accessory for a model, not the kit itself. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
