About product

Mk.82 bombs with Mk.15 Snakeye fins in 1:48 (Reskit, 4 pcs)

A set of four resin, 3D printed Mk.82 aircraft bombs fitted with Mk.15 Snakeye retarding fins in the thermally protected version, in 1:48 scale from Reskit. The parts have a very fine surface and sharp edges that injected plastic achieves only with difficulty, and they serve as faithful underwing stores for models of American jet fighter-bombers and attack aircraft.

The real subject

The Mk.82 is an American 500-pound low-drag general-purpose aircraft bomb. The Mk.15 Snakeye fins open after release and retard the bomb, which allows a safe drop from low altitude. The thermally protected version has a surface treatment that reduces the risk of premature initiation, typical of later service.

Building and painting tips

Separate the parts from the print supports and clean them up. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Apply a fine primer before painting; paint the bomb body and the fins according to the particular era and unit, and add the stencil markings and color bands of the scheme in use.

Who the set is for

  • Builders of jet aircraft who want faithful underwing stores
  • Modelers focused on the detail of the weapons load
  • Anyone interested in good 3D printed accessories

The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the kit are not included in the package.
