A colored photo-etched set from the Czech maker Eduard holding the firing handles of Martin-Baker type ejection seats in 1:48 scale. The abbreviation MB refers to the British firm Martin-Baker, whose ejection seats are used by a large proportion of jet aircraft. The set is conceived as a universal accessory with which the seats in the cockpits of various fighters and trainers can be improved. It is not an aircraft model but a small detail set; the base kit has to be obtained separately.
A Martin-Baker ejection seat allows the pilot to leave the machine in an emergency even in extreme conditions. The firing handles, placed above the pilot's head or between his knees, are among the most conspicuous features of the seat, and in 1:48 scale plastic parts only suggest them. A photo-etched version gives them a faithful shape and coloring.
Nip the parts carefully out of the fret and bend them on a hard surface. They are glued with a small drop of super glue straight onto the plastic seat. Colored photo-etched parts are not painted over; they are only fixed with matte varnish if needed. Work with tweezers and light the area well, as the parts are very small.
The accessory is supplied on its own. The model itself, glue and paints are not included in the package.
