This is a resin conversion set, not a helicopter kit. It makes it possible to turn a plastic model of a light helicopter of the MD 500 series in 1:48 scale into the civil MD-500E with its pointed nose, or into the military OH-6DA observation machine. The set usually brings a new interior, shaped fuselage elements and a clear cabin canopy.
The family of light MD 500 helicopters (originally the Hughes 500) grew out of the military OH-6 Cayuse observation type. The MD-500E version is marked out by its characteristic pointed nose; the OH-6DA is an observation machine used by the army. They are nimble helicopters for observation, liaison and light tasks.
Wash the resin parts free of mold release agent and cut the casting blocks off, sand with your airways protected and glue with super glue. Paint and fit the interior before closing the fuselage, mask the clear canopy with an accurate mask and glue it with an adhesive suited to clear parts.
The set is an accessory for a plastic model, not a kit on its own. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
