This model from Reskit captures American airfield equipment for hanging aircraft loads, with the lift carried up. The figure for the upper position is part of the name, because the same real subject also exists in the folded-down state. A buyer therefore chooses straight away the moment to be immortalized on a base.
A load carried up turns a static model into a scene with a story. A viewer grasps that the machine is getting ready for flight and that work is going on around it, even if not a single figure stands on the base. At the same time it is the position in which the construction of the lift, its struts and its guides are most clearly visible. In 1:48 scale the whole can also be placed right under the wing of an aircraft without the scene looking crowded.
It works well to rid the parts of grease first, dry them thoroughly and only then apply the primer. Choose the means of joining according to the material of the individual sections. Thin struts will take only light coats of paint. Accentuating the shadows in the recesses afterwards and a fine dust on the running parts will give the whole the credibility that paint alone will not bring.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Paints, means of joining and scene accessories do not figure in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
