A resin detail set from the Czech manufacturer CMK replaces the wheels of a model of the Soviet MiG-21 fighter in the PF, MF and bis versions with faithfully cast resin parts. These have a crisper tread, the correct tire profile and hubs, and some are cast with a realistic settling under the weight of the aircraft. This is not a model of an aircraft but an accessory for the MiG-21 PF/MF/bis kit in 1:48 scale.
The Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-21 was the most widespread supersonic fighter in history, built in large numbers from the nineteen sixties on. The PF, MF and bis versions represent a gradual development with more powerful engines, radars and armament; they flew in dozens of countries, Czechoslovakia among them. A delta wing and a nose air intake with a shock cone were characteristic of it.
Wash the mold release agent off the parts, cut them away from the casting blocks and clean them up. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Paint the tires a matte dark gray, not black, and pick the hubs out differently. If the wheels are cast with a settling, orient the flat face downward toward the ground. Protect your airways when sanding resin.
The set is an accessory for that model, not a kit in its own right. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
