1:48 Mitsubishi F-2 A/B - Exhaust Nozzle CLOSED is a resin exhaust nozzle in the closed position for a model of the Japanese fighter.
Responsibility details are not available.
A resin replacement for the engine exhaust nozzle on a model of the Japanese Mitsubishi F-2 fighter in 1:48 scale from the Czech maker Aires. The nozzle is rendered in the closed position, that is, the way it looks with the engine running at low power or shortly after shutdown. The casting has a thin wall and internal detail on the petals, so the tail of the model does not end in an empty hole as it does with a thick-walled plastic part. It is not a model of the aircraft.
The Mitsubishi F-2 is a Japanese fighter derived from the American F-16, with which it was developed jointly. Compared with its parent it has a larger wing in composite materials, a longer fuselage and a reshaped nose radome, so it is not merely a licensed copy. It serves above all for the defense of the Japanese islands and for strikes against ships, for which it carries domestically produced antiship missiles. In the air it is told apart from the F-16 mainly by its wing area.
Wash the resin castings in lukewarm soapy water because of the mold release agent. Cut the casting block off with a saw and level the face with abrasive paper, protecting your breathing. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Apply a primer before painting. Paint the nozzle in a combination of metallic shades, lighter inside and a darker heat-stained tone toward the lip, and blend the transition by toning.
This is an accessory, not a complete model. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
