The real subject

The MV-22 Osprey is a tiltrotor, that is a machine with tilting nacelles at the ends of the wing. It takes off and lands vertically like a helicopter, and as soon as the nacelles tilt forward it goes on flying like an airplane. In the armament of the US Marine Corps it serves to carry troops and cargo. For a modeler it is rewarding in that it has a glazed and easily accessible crew cockpit into which one can see on a finished model.

What the set brings

These are color interior elements with a three-dimensional relief that are fitted directly onto the cockpit parts from the kit. They save laborious coloring by hand: the instruments, the controls and the lettering come in finished color, and the relief gives them a depth that flat printing does not have. The set is laid out for the Hobby Boss kit, so the shapes correspond to its parts. The extent of the elements and their placing are given in the manufacturer's instructions.

Before you apply the elements

Before applying them, check in the instructions whether the elements are self-adhesive. The method of application differs between the individual ranges, so follow the manufacturer's instructions. First paint the cockpit parts, let them dry through thoroughly and degrease them, because nothing holds on a greasy or dusty surface. Transfer the elements with tweezers with smooth jaws and settle them one by one; check the position dry and only then press the element down. In recesses a brief press with a soft stick or a cotton swab will help. Store the rest of the sheet in the dry and out of direct light.
