A colored 3D decal interior set in 1:48 scale from Quinta Studio. It is not a model of the aircraft but a detail accessory for the cockpit. The parts are made by full-color 3D printing with raised, three-dimensional detail of the instrument panel, the side consoles, the levers and the switches. The set is intended for models of the American twin-engine P-38G Lightning fighter in this scale.
The parts combine the look of a decal with the depth of a photo-etched part: they are thicker than ordinary decals and carry relief, which gives the cockpit depth and legible instruments without laborious painting. That will be appreciated above all by modelers who want a faithful Lightning interior with a minimum of effort.
Release the parts from the backing paper in water and, once they are off, fix them with a suitable adhesive, for example a thin layer of gloss varnish. Do not use a decal softener, as the chemicals would damage the printed resin layer. Even out the surfaces underneath beforehand so that they are smooth and clean. Work according to the instructions, set the small parts in place with tweezers and let them dry properly.
This is an interior detail accessory, not a model. The aircraft kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
