The Eduard P-40K short tail kit in 1:48 scale brings the American Curtiss P-40K fighter in the short-fuselage version.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the American Curtiss P-40K fighter from the Czech manufacturer Eduard, in the version with the short rear fuselage. Depending on the boxing, the kit is completed by colored photo-etched parts, painting masks and a choice of marking options; for the exact contents follow the instructions in the box.
The Curtiss P-40 was one of the main American fighters of the first half of the Second World War, deployed on many fronts and by Allied countries as well. The P-40K version was powered by an Allison engine and the early production had a shorter fuselage; because of its tendency to swing on takeoff, later machines received a lengthened rear end. It is exactly this early short tail version that the kit captures.
Cut the parts from the sprues and clean them up carefully. Use a thin modeling cement on the plastic, apply a primer before painting and spray the colors with an airbrush. The cockpit and the other details are brought to life by the colored photo-etched parts, and mask the glazing with the enclosed masks or with masks bought separately. Prepare a gloss coat under the decals and finally flatten the surface to match the subject.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
