An injection-molded plastic kit of the P-47D-25RE Thunderbolt in 1:48 scale from MiniArt - the American Second World War fighter with a bubble canopy, Basic edition.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the heavy American fighter Republic P-47D-25RE Thunderbolt in 1:48 scale from MiniArt. The D-25RE sub-version introduced the bubble canopy with a cut-down fuselage spine, which markedly improved the pilot's view to the rear. This is the Basic edition, a simplified version without photo-etched parts and without painting masks, with two decal schemes. The more demanding Advanced edition from the same manufacturer adds a photo-etched fret, a detailed engine and open access panels.
The P-47 Thunderbolt was among the heaviest and toughest single-engine fighters of the Second World War. It was powered by the strong Pratt & Whitney R-2800 Double Wasp radial engine with a turbocharger and carried eight .50 caliber machine guns. It served as a bomber escort fighter and as a feared fighter-bomber in attacks on ground targets. The version with the bubble canopy was a late stage in the type's development, more advanced both aerodynamically and ergonomically.
Cut the parts from the sprues and glue clean joints with thin modeling cement for plastic. Paint and shade the cockpit interior before you close the fuselage halves. Apply a primer before painting; an airbrush gives the best coverage. After the gloss coat and the decals, bring out the panel lines with a wash and add fine wear that matches front-line service.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
