This product is not a model of an aircraft but a detail accessory set of the Space range. It combines 3D decals with real three-dimensional relief and fine steel photo-etch. The set focuses on the rear part of the fuselage interior of the PBY-5A Catalina model in 1:48 scale, above all on the ribs and spars, which are clearly visible through the glazing and openings of the large fuselage. The target kits are those from Eduard or Revell.
The PBY-5A Catalina was the amphibious version of the famous American flying boat of the Second World War. The roomy fuselage with large observation windows reveals a considerable part of the internal structure, so a detailed interior has a great visual impact on a finished model.
Apply the 3D decals like decals onto a smooth, prepared surface. Leave products for softening decals aside, as they would damage the printed resin of the decal. Separate the photo-etched parts with a sharp knife and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Finish and shade the interior before closing the fuselage up, while it is still readily accessible.
An accessory set. It contains no model and no paints; the base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
