A plastic kit of the German light tank of Czechoslovak origin Pz.Kpfw. 38(t) Ausf. E/F in 1:48 scale from Tamiya.
Responsibility details are not available.
This injection-molded plastic kit in 1:48 scale from Tamiya (the 1:48 military line) represents the German light tank Panzerkampfwagen 38(t) in the Ausf. E/F version. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted; check the particular contents of the box and the marking options against the manufacturer's current specification.
The Pz.Kpfw. 38(t) originated in the Czechoslovak LT vz. 38 design. After the occupation of Czechoslovakia the German army took over both production and the completed machines and used them as one of the main light tanks of the Wehrmacht in the early part of the Second World War — from the campaign in Poland to Operation Barbarossa, the attack on the Soviet Union in 1941. The riveted armor construction of the hull and turret was characteristic. The Ausf. E/F versions were among the better armored variants of the type; the 38(t) chassis also became the basis for a series of other German vehicles.
Assemble and paint the running gear (road wheels, tracks) and any interior detail before you close up the hull — once it is glued there is no access to them. Riveted armor shows to advantage after a dark wash that picks out the detail. Glue the joints with liquid modeling cement for plastic, apply a primer before painting and spray the camouflage with an airbrush; apply the markings over a gloss clear coat. Dirty the lower hull and the tracks with pigments for mud and dust effects.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
