A turned metal barrel in 1:48 scale from the Polish firm Aber. It is not a model but an accessory replacing the plastic barrel of a kit. The metal version has a perfectly round profile with no glue seam and an accurate muzzle. This variant matches the longer barrel of 54.6 calibers for the later T-34/85 model 44/55.
The 85 mm ZiS-S-53 gun was the main armament of the T-34/85 medium tank. The later production tanks carried a longer barrel than the early machines; in this configuration the T-34/85 served for a long time after the Second World War in many armies.
Cut off the plastic barrel and clean up the seat, then fit the metal one and fix it with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Degrease the metal before gluing and use a primer suitable for metal. Check that the barrel length matches the T-34/85 version you are building.
This is an accessory, not a model. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
