1:48 Russian Weapon loading cart

Russian Weapon Loading Cart, 1:48

An accessory set, not an aircraft model. It contains a Russian wheeled cart of the type used at airfields to transport and hoist ordnance under an aircraft, plus two ground crew figures. The ordnance itself is not included, so the cart can be loaded with rockets or bombs from another source, or built empty. The set was released in 2025.

What it is for

• Adding life to a scene with a modern Russian aircraft in 1:48 scale.
• The basis of a diorama depicting flight-line preparation at an airfield.
• Adding ground support equipment to a display case alongside a finished model.
• A source of ground crew figures for another aviation scene.

Building and painting tips

The cart is a small assembly with thin parts, so build it in stages and let each sub-assembly cure fully. Paint the frame and wheels separately and glue them together only after painting, otherwise the corners are hard to reach. Ground equipment tends to get more battered and dirty than aircraft, so it will take heavy chipping, grease stains around the bearings and dust on the wheels. Finish the figures separately and fit them only at the end.

Who the set is for

• Builders of aviation dioramas in 1:48 scale.
• Modelers of modern Russian aviation equipment.
• Collectors of ground airfield equipment for a display case.

The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Ordnance, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
