A detail accessory in 1:48 scale from the Czech maker Plus Model. It is not an airplane model but a miniature boarding (access) ladder, which will complete a diorama or an airfield stand beside a model of the two-seat Republic F-105F/G Thunderchief fighter-bomber. The set is intended for more experienced modelers and typically combines resin and fine photo-etched parts.
The Republic F-105 Thunderchief was an American supersonic fighter-bomber deployed above all in the Vietnam War. The two-seat F-105F and F-105G (Wild Weasel) versions specialized in hunting and destroying enemy radars and surface-to-air missile sites. The boarding ladder was hooked onto the side of the fuselage for the crew to climb into the high-set cockpit.
Wash the resin parts to remove the mold release agent and cut off the casting blocks; fold the photo-etched parts on an edge and join them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Once painted in a metal or gray color, the ladder stands out when brought out with a wash and light weathering; small rubs of paint also look realistic.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The aircraft model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
