This set from Quinta Studio contains colored 3D interior decals for models of the German Schwimmwagen Type 166 amphibious military car in 1:48 scale. The elements are printed on decal backing paper, have a three-dimensional relief and an accurate color finish. The set is intended for the Tamiya kit.
Once seated they produce a realistic dashboard, controls and upholstery with a depth that is hard to achieve by painting by hand. Application is by the wet method: the part is dipped in lukewarm water for about fifteen seconds and slid off the backing paper; it has no adhesive layer of its own and holds on a gloss clear coat. The set is also completed with small 3D-printed resin parts.
This is not a complete resin kit and not a photo-etched set but layered colored decals that speed up detailing the interior. Do not use a decal softener, as its chemicals attack the printed resin.
